Nature of Programs
Programs are open to women of all faiths, though most topics are approached through the lenses of Christianity, with special attention to the contributions, questions, and insights of women. Every effort is made to offer a balance of programs that includes theology, philosophy, the arts and contemporary media. Class size is intentionally kept small (about 20), so that each woman can freely participate and develop her own ideas and voice. We strive for a cooperative intellectual exploration: presentations are generally limited so that sufficient time remains for discussion. Our publications, in the form of curricular materials, scholarly papers, prayer services, book reviews, essays, CDs and DVDs make available the fruits of what we are learning together.
Collaborations
Mount Saint Agnes Theological Center for Women also co-sponsors public lectures, conferences, and study groups with organizations such as the Institute for Christian and Jewish Studies, Saint Ignatius Church, and the Murphy Initiative for Peace and Justice. We sometimes serve high schools, parishes and other educational ventures on request.
