Musings and News

To Read Widely

The staff regularly scans religious journals and newspapers for items of interest to our Center circle.  We also track events of importance to the advancement of women or the shaping of theology.  News items and announcements of interest will appear. We will post such information here for your reading pleasure, your contemplation, your active participation.  Ideas from your reading are also welcome.

In addition, we periodically ask someone to reflect on a program or event at the Center or on some other topic of interest.  These essays will also appear under the title "Musings." We invite you to make yourself known if you would like to contribute to this endeavor.

To Consider Wisely

Nicholas Lash, widely considered to be the most influential British theologian of his generation, has expressed why it is important to do what we do at Mount Saint Agnes Theological Center for Women.

"To be quite blunt: those who refuse to do theology--to read, think hard, discuss--simply do not, in fact, care about the truth of Christianity or, at the very least, do not care sufficiently to seek some understanding of that Word through whom all things are made, into whose light we have been called, and which will set us free."
