The Woman at the Well: John 4.1-43
In this talk, Sister Mary Aquin examines the biblical story of the woman at the well (John 4.1-43) with an eye to what this story may offer to Christians. Of three main lessons which she derives from the passage, she first explains that, like the Samaritan woman, one should risk creating meaning from otherwise ordinary relationships. Additionally, the Samaritan woman demonstrates how a person can be changed by a relationship. Finally, Mary Aquin asserts that this story embodies every human being's responsibility to look critically at his/her relationships and glean from them whatever truth may be present.
